The ECB (England & Wales Cricket Board) wants cricket to be the most inclusive sport in the UK, but let's face it: cricket equipment isn't exactly cheap. Cost remains a barrier to the game for many. I retired from the game in my early 30s. After a couple of years, I came to regret my decision and needed to find my way back to the sport I had always loved. Fitness and family meant that giving up weekends again wasn't going to work, so I started to look into bat supply To be blunt, I was blown away by how much the big brands were charging for their bats, and after just a little research, I knew I could do something different. So, Smash Bats was born in 2025. We don't have any fancy model names, and we don't sponsor any players. We import all our bats from smaller independent bat makers and thoroughly check them with my 'Swing & Ping' test to ensure every bat is free from defects, looks good, and is sure to perform on match day.
